  3.            INET '94, the Annual Conference of the Internet Society

  7.               5th Joint European Networking Conference (JENC5)

  9.              Jointly organized by RARE and the Internet Society

  11.                  Prague, Czech Republic, June 13-17, 1994

  13. The Internet Society (ISOC) and Reseaux Associes pour la
  14. Recherche Europeenne (RARE) joined their forces to organize a
  15. global networking conference. It will take place on June 13-17,
  16. 1994, in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Focusing on
  17. worldwide issues of research and academic networking, the goal of
  18. the conference is to bring together individuals from university,
  19. industry and government who are involved with planning,
  20. developing, implementing, managing, funding and using national,
  21. regional and international research, academic, and commercial
  22. networks.

  24. The official language of the conference is English. The
  25. conference agenda will include plans and status reports on
  26. research and academic networks throughout the world. In addition,
  27. possible topics for conference sessions include but are not
  28. limited to the following:

  30. -  Network Technology: Advances in the Network Technology Base
  31.  
  32. -  Network Engineering and Operation: Building and Operating the
  33.    Global Infrastructure
  34.  
  35. -  Application Technology: Enabling Technologies for Distributed
  36.    Applications

  38. -  Support and Training for International Communities of Interest
  39.  
  40. -  User Information Services
  41.  
  42. -  Regional Issues: Networking Around the Globe
  43.  
  44. -  Policy Issues: Governance, Management, and Financing of
  45.    International Networks

  48. Information for Paper Submission

  50. Please submit 6 copies (in English) of double-spaced full paper
  51. manuscript (maximum of 3500 words) with an abstract to the RARE
  52. Secretariat at the address given below.

  59.  -  December 15, 1993:  Full manuscript due
  60.  -  March 1, 1994:      Notification of acceptance to authors
  61.  -  April 11, 1994:     Camera-ready papers due

  64. Publications
  65.   Conference proceedings containing full papers will be handed out
  66.   to the participants. A selection of the best papers will be
  67.   published as a special issue of "Computer Networks and ISDN
  68.   Systems".
  69.  
  70. Network Technology Training Workshop
  71.   A workshop on the installation and use of networking technology
  72.   is planned to take place adjacent to the conference week.
  73.  
  74. Tutorials
  75.   Tutorials are planned to be held on June 13 and 14, 1994.
  76.  
  77. Demonstrations
  78.   There will be the opportunity for participants to present their
  79.   projects or activities in the form of a demonstration.

  81. Working Group Presentations
  82.   There will be provisions for presentations describing the
  83.   activities in RARE Working Groups and IETF Areas.
